We closed our doors for the last time on June 25th 2004........... We still like to get messages though and answer them all

OUR STAFF

This is the head teacher,
Mr McMinn
. He has been at Dundrennan for three years having previously taught south of the border. His main interests are sport and computing. He teaches full time and loves his job.
This is our support teacher,
Mrs Boyd
. She comes in two mornings and teaches French, R.E. and drama. She also acts as supply head teacher when Mr McMinn is at a meeting. Mrs Boyd is the longest serving member of the school staff and has worked with four head teachers
This is Miss Schofield . She has many jobs within the school, she is classroom assistant, cleaner, janitor and dinner lady. She is in school nearly all week. The school could run perfectly well without the head teacher but it is doubtful that it would survive without this lady.
This is Mrs Wilson , our secretary. She is in school all Monday and some other afternoons. Mrs Wilson is currently taking a degree course at the Crichton University. Mrs Wilson's sense of humour keeps everyone at Dundrennan on their toes.
This is our music teacher,
Mrs Picken
. She is in school every Tuesday morning until break. The children learn the recorder as well as doing a lot of other musical activities. Every child at Dundrennan enjoys music and this is a tribute to the work put in by Mrs Picken.
This is Mrs McVinnie . She comes in one afternoon a week for two terms to give the children extra P.E. and dance. Mrs McVinnie enjoys coming to Dundrennan as the children are very keen on all exercise activities.
This is Mrs Allison . She is appointed by the authority as a learning support teacher and spends one hour a week at Dundrennan working with any pupils who need a little extra support. Currently two children get that extra support.
This is Mrs Norrie , she comes in for four mornings a year to offer the children some extra art activities. Here she is working with the P6 and P7 pupils making Tudor shoes.
We all work together for the good of the children and are truly a team. You will see that we are all on one page. We did this deliberately because we feel that there should be no artificial distinctions between teaching and non-teaching staff. If this makes the page a bit long then we are sure that you will appreciate our reasons for setting it out this way. By the way we don't really hate Mondays!!!!
